3 Things to Do to Get Ready for Roofers

Byron Gutierrez

If you are going to have a new roof installed on your house, you want to do everything you can to make the roofers' job easier. The easier it is on them, the faster they are going to be able to install your roof. You also want to make sure that you are doing everything you can to make sure that you are helping to keep the roofers safe as well. So, what are some things that you can do to help?

1. Clear Out Your Yard

One of the things that you can do that will help the roofers is to make sure that they have plenty of space to work. That means clearing out stuff around the base of your house so that they have a safe place to put their ladders and for them to stage their work. Clear out things like hoses, kids' toys, yard furniture, and trash cans. Pull those things away from the house and away from any traffic route. Also, if you have any pets, you want to make sure that you clean up around the yard because no one wants to step in anything smelly.

2. Plan Electrical Sources

The roofers are going to need to have access to electricity so that they can use their power tools. So one of the things that you can do is to make sure that you clear out some outlets near doors or windows so that the roofers can access them. You want to make sure that the outlets are near doors or windows so that you can feed the cords out through them and then close the door or the window.

3. Remove Fragile Objects

Another thing that you are going to want to do to prepare for the roofers to come to your house is to take down fragile items from your walls or anywhere else that may be affected by the vibrations of the roofers walking around or hammering. If you take them down and put them somewhere safe, then when the new roof is installed, you are going to be ready to put them back up without any damage when the roofers are done and your new roof is on your house.
