Three Common Types Of Newly Built Homes To Choose From

So many people want newly built homes. But the thing is, there is more than one type of newly built home to buy. In the early stages, it is a good idea to think through what you really want from a home and how you want the process of having a home built to proceed. Take a look at the four types of newly built homes below and consider which one best suits your needs.

Modular Homes

A modular home is one that is partially assembled in a factory and then put together on-site. In other words, the home might be delivered to the building site in four or five big pieces, and those pieces are then connected to create a full home. Modular homes tend to be a good choice if you want your new home to go up quickly. They also tend to be one of the most affordable options. However, there is not much chance to customize the home, and the quality of modular homes is often lower than the quality of the other types of homes presented here.

Partially Custom Homes

Another option is to have a builder create a partially customized home from the ground, up. Your builder will have several different types of homes for you to choose from, and also a list of things you can customize within that home. For example, they may let you pick between two or three different layouts. They may also let you pick the finishes, the roof style, and some other core elements. This option gives you a good deal of control over what your home turns out like, but it is easier and more affordable than having a fully custom home built.

Fully Custom

This option is exactly what it sounds like. You work with an architect to have a home custom-drawn for you. Then, the builder builds the home according to your custom plans. With this option, you have control over basically every element of the home, from the shape of the basement to the color of the carpet. This is the most costly way to have a home built, but the resulting homes are often much higher-end and perfectly in line with your needs. If you have unique needs, a fully custom home may be a great choice for you.
